“Latent vulnerabilities”
The mask cracks and reveals the shadow
New collection 2026
In the series “Latent vulnerabilities”, the portrait operates on two levels: visible and concealed.
Black light acts as a revelator. What seemed smooth, restrained, or silent reveals other layers: hands, bonds, cracks. This “invisible presence” symbolizes the intangible forces that shape us and the mental chaos hidden beneath the social mask.
“Embossed memories”
Shaping and embellishing the crack
2024 – 2026
In the abstract series “Embossed memories” each canvas becomes a site of excavation where traces and fractures come to the surface. Just as the skin bears the imprint of wounds, the pictorial surface reveals its scars: cracks, thickened areas and reliefs.
These scars are not merely marks of the past: they speak to the ability to transform pain into strength. Between shadow and light, roughness and smoothness, the material thus becomes a metaphor for memory, both fragile and indestructible.
Other series
| 2025 | “Erased outlines”
In the series “Erased outlines” , our identity is questioned through the prism of the visible and the invisible.
Her female portraits seek less to freeze a face than to reveal what lies behind it: fragments of intimacy, areas of shadow and light. Each canvas occupies a fragile middle ground: between what is shown and what is erased, what is revealed and what resists the gaze. The contours are shifting, as if the subject were oscillating between presence and disappearance.
In this collection, the focus is on memory and scars: inner marks become visible traces, imprints of a history that shapes identity. Faces become emotional mirrors where everyone can project their own trials and tribulations, their own flashes of insight. Thus, this series is a space where we explore human fragility and resilience, between appearance and erasure, between light and darkness.
| 2024 | “dark lights”
“Dark lights” explores the tension between light and darkness through color. Each canvas becomes a space where shadows are not erased, but revealed by the light that passes through them. These contrasts, sometimes subtle, sometimes striking, invite the viewer to feel the ambivalence of our own inner zones: fragility and strength, opacity and transparency, visible and invisible.
| 2024 | “I am not a woman”
“I am not a woman” uses models generated by artificial intelligence to highlight the gap between the stereotypical image of Woman and the reality of an increasingly complex identity. These faces, perfect in appearance, nevertheless carry no history: they are surface, mask, illusion.
By reinterpreting them through painting, Nonoss seeks to crack this artificial perfection and reveal the invisible: memories, scars, areas of shadow and light that forge the uniqueness of each being.
| 2023 | “All the cracks in my skin let the light in”
All the cracks in my skin let the light in is a series of portraits that explores femininity through its flaws. The cracks, visible or invisible, become places of passage where light emerges. Far from hiding wounds, Nonoss transforms them into bursts of strength and resilience, revealing the inner power that arises from our fragilities.
