Eurydice

The portrait *Eurydice* plays on a contrast of colors, symbolizing her duality: part of her skin has warm, orange tones, while the rest of her body and the background are bathed in cool blues. Named after the myth of Eurydice, this contemporary portrait explores the external forces that shape, constrain, or distort our identity.
The ambiguity of the work centers on this hand: is it her own, in a gesture of self-protection, or an external hand attempting to restrain her? The black light reveals other hands reaching out to grab the subject. One can interpret this as a woman’s struggle with her own demons or the impact of an external presence on her life.
