Plaie ouverte (Open wound)

“Open Wound” is an acrylic painting in which the raw material interacts with an inlaid piece of wood, covered in gold like an organ—a heart, or what remains of it. It appears broken, split, but never forsaken. Golden wires stitch it back together, like a fragile yet determined gesture, an act of intimate repair.

Each suture tells of pain endured, each golden splinter a lesson learned. Here, the wound is not hidden: it is sublimated. For trials are not flaws to be concealed, but paths to greater light. This work embodies the idea that even what has been broken can become a source of beauty, strength—and gold.
