Scarlett is a portrait that explores a woman’s self-effacement, her tendency to remain silent so as not to disturb, to the point of almost disappearing – all the while allowing a silent yet powerful presence to emerge.

Scarlett is a portrait that questions feminine identity in the face of injunctions to discretion, gentleness and silence. Through areas that have been erased, softened or left incomplete, the work suggests this tendency, often unconscious, to erase oneself so as not to disturb, to smooth out one's contours to the point of losing one's shape.
And yet, beneath this apparent disappearance, there remains a strong, resistant presence, a restrained emotion that surfaces in the gaze or the texture of the material. Scarlett is not an absence: she is the in-between, the suspended moment between what we keep silent and what we finally decide to reveal.
