Diara

“Diara” is a contemporary portrait in acrylic paint, a artwork that dives to the heart of the tensions in our identity, its contradictions and complexities. Through shades of blue and touches of gold, the portrait reveals a woman divided between her shadowy parts and the light that society values. These areas of darkness, sometimes concealed or judged, evoke inner struggles and facets of the self that we learn to hide, in a world that seeks to standardize beauty and femininity.

However, far from giving in to this self-erasure, “Diara” affirms another truth: harmony is born precisely from this coexistence of light and shadow. The golden reflections on the dark areas symbolize an intense inner light, a strength that transcends external expectations. This portrait invites us to celebrate the nuances of feminine identity, where every shadow is an essential part of beauty and resilience.

As a contemporary feminist painter, I seek to explore the complexity of emotions, deconstruct stereotypes and celebrate the inner strength of women. For me, it's a celebration of the emotions, a hymn to women's inner strength and a call to constantly explore our own light, even in the midst of darkness.
