"Amelia" is a woman of ambiguous emotions, between light and shadow. She represents all the responses to injunctions that a woman might hear in the course of her life, either literally or subtly infused into everyday conversation, and making her think she "will never be enough".
The deliberate choice of blue, a symbol of shadow and mystery, serves as a backdrop for inner conflicts and moments of doubt. In contrast, gold, bright and luminous, symbolises inner clarity and power. These two interacting forces invite us to reflect on the duality of feminine emotions.
As a contemporary feminist painter, I seek to explore the complexity of emotions, deconstruct stereotypes and celebrate the inner strength of women. For me, this is a celebration of emotions, a hymn to women's inner strength and a call to constantly explore our own light, even in the midst of darkness.
