This portrait is part of my “female warriors” collection, where I use icons from popular culture to convey a feminist message and highlight Women and their power, sometimes underestimated. You just have to let your light shine through and find your inner strengh, as symbolised by these golden splatters. Here, Artemisia is the image of the strong woman : fearless and able to command an army of men, despite the violence she suffered from them.

A blue and gold pop art portrait of Eva Green in the role of Artemisia in the movie 300, rise of an empire. A modern, intense and blazing painting, depicting this brunette woman warrior, against a dark blue background with golden splashes and splatters. This portrait is part of my "female warriors" collection, in which I choose strong female characters to highlight Women. Their power is represented by the golden light that seems to emanate from her. The first time I saw this film, I was in awe of this woman, who found the strength to become a commander despite the violence she suffered from men. This is the second portrait of Eva Green that I have done. I represented her important part of shadow by this background, darker than my other portraits, in opposition to her light and strength, symbolized by the golden spots. I also used my largest canvas size to emphasize her power.
